Terms of use
Last updated: September 30, 2026
These terms apply to Infernal Trivia Host, the space where bars, cafés and hosts build, present and print their quiz nights. By creating a host account, you accept them. We kept them short and plain.
The service
Infernal Trivia Host lets you build a quiz, run it on a big screen from your phone, print the answer sheets and keep the scores.
The service is free during launch. It may become paid later (for example by subscription or per night); if so, you will be told in advance, and nothing will be charged without your agreement. You are never obliged to continue.
Accounts
- A host account is separate from a Infernal Trivia player account.
- One account per person: do not share your login.
- We confirm your email address and, when you log in, send a code by email. Keep your password and your mailbox safe: whoever has them can act in your name.
- A venue can have several hosts. The person in charge of the venue invites and removes the members of the team.
Your content
The quizzes you build, and the questions you write or modify, belong to you. They are never used in Infernal Trivia nor in another host’s night.
When you ask us to check a quiz (“Have it checked”), our team reads its questions, only to check them: facts, spelling, wording. We change nothing ourselves: you receive suggestions and apply or ignore each one.
The assistant of the editor picks questions from our bank; it writes none. It runs on a service of Anthropic (Claude): what you write to it, the outline of the quiz you are working on and the notes about your venue are sent to that service to get its answer. Your exchanges are kept with the quiz and our team can read them to improve the assistant.
Questions picked from the Infernal Trivia bank remain ours. You may use them, as is or modified, in your quiz nights.
Uploaded files
- You must hold the rights, or have permission, for every clip, image and logo you upload. You are responsible for them.
- Your files are private. They are stored on our own server in Canada and served only to the logged-in hosts of your venue, during your nights.
- Limits: 50 MB per file and 500 MB per venue.
- We remove content following a well-founded report, for example a copyright complaint.
- We strongly recommend YouTube for clips. YouTube videos are played through YouTube's embedded player, and YouTube's own terms apply to them.
Personal information
We keep only what the service needs: the host's name and email address, the venue's name, and the team names and points you enter.
Players' names stay on paper: they are never entered in the service.
No advertising in the host space, and nothing is ever sold.
Details are in our privacy policy.
Acceptable use
No illegal, hateful or harassing content, in your questions, your break screens or your files. We may suspend an account that breaks this rule.
Availability and backups
We aim for a reliable service, but no website can promise to never fail. A quiz night deserves a plan B: before each night, export a backup (HTML, PowerPoint or PDF) and keep it on the computer.
To the extent permitted by law, Infernal Trivia is not liable for indirect losses resulting from an outage, a lost file or a cancelled night.
Closing your account
You can delete your account at any time from the Account page. When the last host of a venue leaves, the venue's data (quizzes, files, nights, scores) is deleted.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change in an important way, we will tell you in the host space or by email before the change takes effect.
Contact and governing law
